Abony invests a million in FunTech
Lorne Abony, the CEO of the Canadian skill gaming group FunTech is a man who demonstrates his confidence in his company in a most direct way - he's just invested a $1 million of his own money to purchase 460 000 shares!
The confidence appears to be justified - FunTech subsidiaries have kept up a constant stream of new contracts with leading companies, with the latest deal coming from Fanball, which has just signed a partnership agreement with The Golf Channel.

The agreement involves the supply of a range of online fantasy sports contests on the Fantasy Golf theme, which will be available on Golf Channel.com.
Through the partnership, the Golf Channel will provide a variety of games to involve both the avid and casual golf fan. Serious competitors can manage a team of players in Tour Trade, while beginners are able to participate in games focused around one tournament or play weekly without making a season-long commitment.
Tour Trade kicks off the Fantasy Golf season beginning with the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. Players will be able to manage a team of 12 players with a $10 million salary cap.
"Our Fantasy Golf platform allows Gold Channel to truly integrate our golf programming with our online initiative of providing innovative and quality golf entertainment and services," said Gene Pizzolato, executive vice president, Advertising Sales & New Media at Golf Channel. "By teaming with Fanball, these games create an exciting, interactive experience that satisfies the appetite of all golf fans."
"Golf Channel's partnership with the PGA tour is proof of the network's commitment to providing coverage of the world's most popular golf competitions," said Abony. "Through this partnership, Fanball will build a first-to-market fantasy golf game that will allow consumers to become truly immersed in the PGA tour action."
