Recent research shows increase in available online poker rooms
Moves by US politicians to put an end to online gambling in that country have had little effect on the growth in the number of online poker rooms, according to Poker Site Scout.com. The site reports that there are now 600 online poker rooms and counting, giving players an unprecendented choice for entertainment venues.

Poker Site Scout.com is an independent website offering current information on the dynamic world of online poker. The online poker traffic report from the site was conducted through the use of three main sources of information:
* The publicly published client software of each poker room.
* The published information that is available on the poker websites.
* Press releases that inform about new poker rooms.
The research addresses only relevant, real money poker rooms, and excludes many venues such as "play money" online poker rooms, and tutorial sites.
The research team point out that barely a few years ago there were less than a dozen rudimentary poker sites, and today the numbers have climbed by more than 5 000 percent offering high volume network action on hundreds of sites with a range of games and big-money tournaments.
