SNOWBOARDER IS PARTY POKER'S TOP ACTION SPORTS STAR
Danny Kass takes the Big Throwdown Championship

Party Poker's blend of poker excitement and major action sports stars (see previous InfoPowa reports) in the Party Poker Big Throwdown Championship has a winner.

Danny Kass, a 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics silver medalist, defeated five other action sports stars to win the inaugural event at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, beating out surfer Pat O'Connell, BMX competitor Dennis McCoy, skateboarder Sergie Ventura, wakeboarder Josh Sanders, and FMX competitor Jeff Tilton.

The all-star action sports contestants battled their way to the final table through earlier qualifier events leading to a winner-take-all final table where a first prize of $30 000 was up for grabs.

Surfer O'Connell was first to be eliminated after 75 minutes of play, followed by McCoy and Ventura who were taken out on the same hand by Kass.

Tilton took Sanders out of the game next and then went heads-up against Kass with a slight chip lead. The two played for 30 minutes before Tilton went all-in with an inside straight draw, but Kass triumphed with king high.

Party Poker commissioned a one-hour telecast of the action which will air October 21 on the Outdoor Life Network.
