Disappointing news for the online gambling industry came in an exclusive e-Review Journal interview with Congressman Barney Frank, the main mover behind the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act, this week.

Dublin-based games developer launches latest addition to its gambling inventory
CryptoLogic Limited, a Dublin-based software developer to the global Internet gaming market, has announced that it has gained the exclusive rights to develop the first-ever Internet casino games based on the popular Marvel Super Heroes, Spider-Man and The Fantastic Four.

Under the agreement, made through CryptoLogic's wholly-owned subsidiary, WagerLogic Ltd., CryptoLogic will remain the sole developer of Internet casino games based on the Marvel characters through 2010. The games based on these characters are scheduled to launch in December 2007.  more...

Bodog founder and CEO Calvin Ayre continued his blog assault on the 1st Technologies patent claims (see previous InfoPowa reports) midweek with some frank comments that will do little to create a climate for negotiation - if that is in fact desired at all.

In his latest blog posts, Ayre seems to be thumbing his nose at the 1st Technologies case, claiming that whilst it is [expletive] insane it is also a topic of some amusement and will be treated accordingly. Ayre writes: "�it is extremely important to see the obvious humor in this patent suit. That's why I've used my blog to express my opinions on the matter."  more...

Amusement and gambling machine supplier may be acquired by Icelandic financial house
Ending the week on a high note, Inspired Gaming plc has advised the London regulatory officials that it has received an offer from a financial institution worth 385 p per ordinary share - around GBP 270 million.

The company advised that it was making the notification following media speculation and that it has entered into discussions with the would be buyer, which has commenced a due diligence process. 32 charged in ongoing investigations
