CEO takes issue with criminality claim
Online gambling group Bodog has applied for a British operating licence as part of its plans to expand further into the European market, reports The Guardian.

In an interview with Bodog CEO Calvin Ayre, the newspaper raised allegations that the gambling group's substantial activities in the US are criminal. Ayre rejected the idea, saying: "We have licences from sovereign governments to do what we do - that's how it works on every other industry on the planet."  more...

The British lingerie and adult products group Ann Summers has added an online casino to the Internet bingo operations it launched mid-2007 in a white label deal with St Minver, using Parlay Entertainment software (see previous InfoPowa report).

The new operation follows the Gibraltar-licensed St Minver white label model and is designed to attract both men and women. However, St Minver's m.d. Boss Media's International Poker Network to welcome Austrian online poker fans
The deal between the Austrian state gambling authority and Sweden's Boss Media and state-run Svenske Spel to launch a new online poker room came to fruition this week on the Boss Media network.

In starting Internet poker operations at Win2Day.com, the Austrian government becomes one of only two European governments (the other is Sweden) to offer state-sponsored poker. The online poker software developer and network operator Absolute Poker has finalised a deal to acquire one of its largest skins, Vegas 247, for an undisclosed purchase price.

Details are still sketchy, but blogs such as NetBet have been examining the rumoured deal for the past two weeks, revealing that affiliates were the first members of the general public to be informed of an imminent player migration, as many will be affected financially.
