Ex-Neteller directors detained in seperate arrests
Industry observers are still scratching their heads over the arrest in the United States of two ex-founding directors of Isle of Man-based public company Neteller this week.

Although still shareholders of the successful and legally registered financial processing company, Canadians John LeFevre and Steve Lawrence had severed executive and directorship ties with it when they were arrested Monday morning in Los Angeles and the St John island in the US Virgin Isles.  more...

Money laundering offences claimed by US Attorney General
The case against two ex-Neteller directors arrested Monday in the United States (see previous InfoPowa reports) was outlined late Tuesday this week by the US Attorney General in the Southern District of New York.

Although they no longer have management connections to the Isle of Man financial company, Neteller founders and Canadian citizens Stephen Lawrence (46) and John Lefebvre (55) have been charged with money laundering offences.  more...

John Lefebvre to be released but must remain in the USA
Late breaking news Wednesday morning in the USA is that former Neteller executive and founding shareholder John Lefebvre has been granted bail following an appearance in court in Los Angeles.

Department of Justice spokeswoman Rebekah Carmichael said, "He will be released after satisfying the bail conditions of $5 million fully secured by cash or property; pre-trial supervision; surrender of all travel documents; and travel restricted to the Central District of California, except for trips to Southern District, New York for Court."  more...

The latest British internet applications study from the research and ratings organisation Nielsen/NetRatings shows that the fave for Britons online is Internet poker.

The analytics company credited broadband for the rise of what it termed "addictive" activities and reported that 83 percent of Britons online now use some kind of online application like MSN Messenger, or AOL Companion. Online betting firm Sportingbet's long tussle with a Canadian company that has registered the domain "Sportingbet.net" ended in failure this week in the second setback of this nature experienced by the company, which had earlier tried to force the surrender of the domain "Sportingbet.biz."

Unlicensed Texas Hold 'Em tourneys are getting official attention in Canadian province
The Canadian national police, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have been active in the Atlantic province of Nova Scotia recently and are reported to be investigating some 60 allegedly illegal poker games in the region.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reported this week that the Mounties are paying particular attention to games of poker being run by local public houses, even where the effort is on behalf of charities. A survey of 664 UK office workers by the Morse business and technology consultancy, together with unspecified "workplace information" from the Office of National Statistics claims that online gambling whilst at work costs British companies more than GBP 300 million a year.

There has been a change in management at the 400Affiliates program, which handles Rival software powered casinos. Former manager Justin Kelly has "moved on" to be replaced by the experienced former Adriches and Casino Profit Share affiliate manager Rakesh Karan.
