Recently listed on the London AIM exchange and Playtech associate Asian Logic Limited scored a major Asian tournament coup this week with the acquisition of the burgeoning Asian Poker Tour and the Korean Professional Poker Tour.

The non profit and player protection body eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance has taken the unusual step of suspending its accreditation for six online gambling venues in the Casino Action group of companies.

Releasing its six month numbers to end November 2007, UK sportsbetting company Betinternet owner Webis said turnover rose 22 percent to GBP 53 million, compared with GBP 43.5 million in 2006. But profit at EBITDA level was down at GBP 43 000, compared with GBP 182 000 in 2006.

The Philippines based PhilWeb Corp. reported that net income grew by more than 60 percent last year on the back of higher revenues from its Internet casino activities.

President Dennis O. Valdes said net income was up by 64 percent to P190 million last year from the P116 million in 2006.

Net Entertainment racks up another online casino sale
Swedish turnkey provider Net Entertainment continued its successful CasinoModule product run this week by securing a contract to supply Bet-At-Home.com with an online casino, due for launch in the second quarter 2008.

Bet-at-home.com, is one of the larger European online operators, and has decided to replace its existing casino solution, believed to be from Chartwell Technology. The company, established in Wels in Austria in 1999 is licensed in Malta and has offices in Austria and on the Mediterranean island. It claims that over a million gamblers are registered for its sportsbook, casino and poker offerings online. In 2006, Bet-at-home.com reached a betting turnover of around Euro 335 million, with predictions for 2007 at Euro 480 million.  more...
