Cryptologic gears up for major move on Asia
Veteran gambling software developer and turnkey provider Cryptologic is about to team up Brilliance Technology Company and 568 Network Inc in a significant project to adapt and license its online casino, poker and other skill-based games for the Chinese market.

Company officials this week signed memoranda of understanding with the two companies, which both have strong links to the software and gaming industries in China .  more...
   

Direct Poker will be aired on French Digital TV Network Direct 8
Everest Poker has made a bold move into French territory this week by signing a sponsorship deal with the new poker TV show Direct Poker. The show will be aired weekly on one of France 's most popular free digital TV channels, Direct 8.

France has recently seen a wave of new poker television shows aired on both national and cable TV which have largely contributed to the poker phenomenon in France . One of France's top three poker rooms, Everest Poker has teamed with Direct 8 to launch Direct Poker, a live one-hour televised speed poker game during which over 100 contestants will pit their wits to win a share of the 25 000 Euro prize pool and a seat at the World Series of Poker in July.  more...

Lawyer pays the price for $900 000 modern-day grave robbing offences
State conservator Jennifer Ann Wenger (53) paid a high price for her sins in an Orange County Court this week when she was sentenced to nine years in prison for committing an aggravated white collar fraud on a deceased estate (see previous InfoPowa reports)

Formal charges must now be laid by the DoJ
Stephen Lawrence and John Lefebvre, the two ex-Neteller directors who were arrested January 16 for alleged money laundering for founding an offshore but fully legitimate third party processing company, are to appear in court on a preliminary hearing in the United States on February 14.
