Ongoing hassle with US Department of Justice blamed for late results
The embattled e-wallet Neteller has announced in a rare press release that due to the ongoing investigation by the US authorities, the annual audited accounts for the year ended 31 December 2006 will not be finalised in time to send to shareholders by 30 June 2007.
This means that Neteller is unable to comply with Rule 19 of the AIM Rules that requires an AIM listed company to send its accounts to shareholders not later than six months after the end of the financial year to which they relate.  more...

District appeal court rules against online gambling
Reports from the Israeli news publication Haaretz indicate that a District Court in Tel Aviv has upheld a lower court finding that companies operating online gambling websites targeting Israelis are breaking the law, even if operated and registered abroad.

The issue before the court involved an appeal by British businessman Michael Carlton, who is Chief Executive Officer of the Victor Chandler casino website registered and licensed in Gibraltar. Wednesday could be crunch day for EU nations France, Sweden and Greece, reports the Reuters news service, revealing that the European Commission will decide whether to take legal action against the three nations for restricting competition in their gambling markets.

"There will be some decisions made probably tomorrow by the college (of commissioners) on a number of member states," Oliver Drewes, a spokesman for the European Union's executive arm, told a regular press briefing. The Responsibility in Gambling Trust, Britain's largest funding body for problem gambling, is seeking to double its income to GBP 7 million by 2010...and from responses thus far it looks as if its appeal will receive sympathetic consideration from online gambling companies.

Ripples of concern were widening through EU nations today over reports on a French government spokesman's comment that France's new president Nicolas Sarkozy wants to axe a clause that makes 'free and undistorted competition' a goal for the 27-nation European Union in a draft treaty.
